The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked the claim allegedly indicting its national chairman, Chief Olu Falae, of collecting the sum of N300m from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2015 general elections.
According to the statement, Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, at the venue of All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Benin City, on Tuesday had claimed that “our national chairman, Chief Olu Falae had collected the sum of N300m from the PDP during the 2015 general election when PDP and the SDP entered into electoral alliance”.
It therefore described the allegation as a blatant lie, noting that “the truth as stated by our national chairman through several interviews and media publications is that the PDP made a contribution of N100m to the SDP chaired by Chief Olu-Falae in furtherance of an Electoral Agreement between the two parties to rally support for the PDP presidential candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, during the election.”
This position was contained in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Alfa Mohammed.
