No fewer than 33,000 ghost workers have been cut off the wage bill of the Finance Ministry, Finance Minister Mrs. Kemi Adeosun announced this. As a result, FG has been able to reduce its wage bill from N165bn to N142bn.
It's been discovered that the ministry can also save money by reviewing government’s procurement processes, she added.
She said that through the Efficiency Unit, the ministry had succeeded in negotiating huge discounts for government officials travelling on local and international flights for official assignments.
Represented by the Head of the Efficiency Unit at the Ministry, Mrs. Patience Oniha, she spoke at the 2016 Fiscal Liquidity Assessment Committee Retreat.
