Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, billionaire kidnapper popularly known as Evans, he said he has no hand in suiting filed against the inspector general of police to secure his release.
He said on June 28 filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit at the federal high court in Lagos asking the court to compel the police to release him.
In the ex parte application with reference no FHC/L/CS/1012/2017, he asked the court to direct the police to either charge him to court immediately or release him from custody unconditionally.
He had subsequently filed another suit against the Inspector General of Police(IGP) and three other political parties, claiming N300 million as general and exemplary damages against the police for “unconstitutional media trial snd illegal detention".
But he dissociated himself from the lawsuits filed by Olukoya Ogungbeje.
Evans said the lawsuits was an attempt by some people to put him in trouble.
Evans said “I have no hand in any case filed against the police and I did not speak with any lawyer or my father to fill a case on my behalf,” he was quoted to have said.
“All I will say is that they should temper justice with mercy.”
He was further quoted to have said that if he is released by the police, he would not leave detention because his kidnap victims would kill him.
