The Producer, Not the Gear, Makes the music.
Overtime as a music producer and engineer, I've met artistes who are thrilled/moved by long big mixers, red/green/yellow lights flickering, number of computers in the studio, size of vocal booth etc.
All of these are good but don't guarantee a good production. However, The expertise, experience and prowess of the producer does the magic. Most of the great songs the continent is dancing to now we're recorded in miniature facilities. #RespectYourProducer

Record dry, Add effects Later.
Some music makers like to record artistes on preset effects, this may sound good initially but counter fires. The risk is, initial errors and flaws of the recording may not
be spotted during tracking.

Gabbage in, Gabbage Out.
A Lotta artistes operate in the mentality of "The producer will fix it'.
This don't aways work. Producers ain't magicians. Artistes should work hard, develope good tones and singing skills. Achieve the best take possible in every recording.

Close your eyes to open your ears.
This is particularly for my producers/engineers. Some folks look at the physical attributes and interface of plug-ins and assume their effectiveness. I know of a producer in particular who likes wares with lar knobs. This ain't always so bro. Some of my favorite set of plugs have a very pale look, but trust me, they produce results.
Let your ears decide, not your eyes.
