Entertainment Gist: "Kcee Shares Story of Losing $70,000 in Song Remix Scam"

Nigerian artist Kingsley Okonkwo, also known as Kcee, shared details on how he fell victim to a $70,000 scam involving a song remix.

In an interview on his YouTube series "Curiosity Made Me Ask" with content creator Bae U, the renowned musician discussed his lengthy career in the music industry and his ability to remain relevant over the years.

Despite his success, Kcee noted a decline in recent remixes of his hit tracks, attributing this to an unfortunate encounter with an American artist. Recounting an incident from seven years ago, Kcee revealed how he paid $70,000 to an American musician for a collaboration, only for the artist to breach the contract.

He also mentioned being approached by the American band One Republic for a remix of their song "Ojapiano," expressing surprise at the unexpected collaboration offer.

When asked if he paid One Republic for the remix, Kcee clarified that he did not, highlighting his astonishment at the band's interest in collaborating with him.
