At least 7 people are dead after an explosion at an upscale market in eastern Pakistan, an official said Thursday. Provincial Justice Minister Rana Sanaullah said that no fewer than 15 people were also wounded in the explosion, which targeted a high-end restaurant in a posh neighbourhood of the city of Lahore.
The latest explosion occurred amid a surge in violence in Pakistan as militants linked with the Islamic State and the Taliban groups killed around 130 people in past couple of weeks across the country.
