Two-month old baby, mother, 8 others perish in Ogun ghastly accident

A mother and her two-month old baby were among the 10 people who died in a ghastly motor accident in Ogun State on Thursday.

The accident involved a white Mazda bus and a Mack truck. The accident occured at Ibara village, on Abeokuta/Sagamu Expressway, at about 10.30a.m.

Public Relations Officer, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday.

“The Mazda bus with registration number TRE 556 XA was coming from Sango, going toward Ijebu Ode and Ijebu Igbo before the accident. We learnt that the bus had parked by the traffic corridor to allow one of the passengers, a female, ease herself when the truck rammed into it from behind. The truck, with registration number LND 564 XP, dragged the bus along until it fell on the bus,’’ he said.
