News: A tragic incident occurred as a staff member of Osun University was fatally crushed by a falling container.

 

A devastating incident occurred on the Ilesa-Ibodi road, resulting in the loss of a female University of Ilesa staff member's life. 

According to reports, a truck carrying cashew nuts lost control, causing a container to fall onto the victim's car near the university's entrance. 

Despite rescue attempts by bystanders, the victim, who was on her way home after work, is feared to have succumbed to her injuries. The accident led to a traffic gridlock, complicating rescue efforts. 

 

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, expressed deep sadness and called for an investigation into the accident's cause. He instructed the Transportation Commissioner to inspect the scene, the university, and the victim's family. 

 

Additionally, the governor stressed the importance of implementing new regulations to prevent similar accidents involving heavy trucks on narrow roads in the future.
