News: Sean Kingston was apprehended in California following a raid on his mansion in Florida.

Rapper Sean Kingston was arrested in California on Thursday on fraud charges, following a SWAT raid on his rented home in South Florida. The Associated Press reported that Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, was apprehended near Fort Irwin, California, based on a warrant issued in Florida, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier that day, authorities also arrested Kingston’s 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, during the raid on his mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed specific charges, citing an ongoing investigation. Witnesses reported seeing authorities removing items from the mansion, which was surrounded by luxury sports cars.

Kingston addressed the situation on his Instagram Story, stating, "People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother!… My lawyers are handling everything as we speak."

The Hollywood Reporter sought comments from Kingston’s representatives, and his attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, confirmed awareness of the allegations. He expressed confidence in a favorable resolution for Kingston and his mother, indicating that they looked forward to addressing the issues in court.

According to the AP, Turner's arrest partly stemmed from a lawsuit filed in February, accusing Kingston of defrauding a Florida company that installed a large television in his home.
