News: Portable Criticizes Davido – “You Should Have Given Me $10,000”

Nigerian artist Portable has publicly accused fellow musician Davido of exploiting him for publicity without providing any financial support or a musical collaboration. In a recent video, Portable expressed his disappointment, stating, "Davido ripped me off. He invited me to dinner in America, but he didn’t give me a verse or any money. He just used me to trend. He should have given me at least $10,000."

The incident in question refers to a previous invitation from Davido to Portable for a dinner in Atlanta, USA. During their time together, Portable claims that Davido offered him misleading advice rather than tangible support. This, coupled with Davido's subsequent decision to unfollow Portable on Instagram, has intensified Portable’s frustration.

In the video, Portable alleges that Davido took advantage of their meeting solely to boost his own popularity. He feels that instead of exploiting him, Davido should have collaborated with him on a song and helped him gain more recognition. Portable believes he has the potential to be a ‘superstar’ and that a proper collaboration with Davido could have significantly elevated his career. He insists that Davido should have compensated him with $10,000 as a gesture of support for his efforts.

Portable’s statements highlight a sense of betrayal and disappointment, emphasizing that he expected more from the interaction with Davido. The lack of financial support and the absence of a promised musical verse have led Portable to believe that Davido’s intentions were purely self-serving. This situation has caused a rift between the two artists, with Portable openly criticizing Davido’s actions and expressing his desire for a more supportive and genuine collaboration.
