News: Andre Vibez: The Grammy-Nominated Producer Reveals “I Began By Charging N500”

Grammy-nominated producer Andre Vibez has shared an inspiring narrative of his journey to success, highlighting his humble beginnings when he charged just N500 as a production fee during his early career. Despite being the son of the iconic musician Sir Victor Uwaifo, Andre Vibez faced numerous challenges in making a name for himself in the competitive music industry. He recounted how he started by producing music for people at a very low cost, driven by the hope of one day achieving significant success. However, his journey was marked by the absence of direct support from his father, who believed in allowing him to forge his own path.

In the third episode of the ‘Made By Us’ docuseries, Andre Vibez shared his experiences, stating:

“When I began my music career, producing tracks for others, I charged as little as N500. I had my expectations and dreams when I started out. My dad was not the type to hold my hand and guide me through the industry. He didn’t introduce me to anyone influential.”

Andre Vibez's fortunes changed when he crossed paths with Don Jazzy, who later signed him to Mavin Records. This pivotal opportunity propelled him into the limelight, allowing him to produce global Afrobeats hits such as Rema and Selena Gomez’s ‘Calm Down’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’. His exceptional work on ‘Rush’ earned him a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys. Earlier this year, Andre Vibez celebrated his success by purchasing a luxurious new house and a G-Wagon.

In a heartfelt post, Andre Vibez reflected on the arduous journey that led him to his current achievements. He emphasized the importance of building a solid foundation and the virtue of patience. He expressed that his new home and luxury vehicle symbolize years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering self-belief. Andre Vibez attributed his success to his faith in the process, highlighting that with God-given talent and relentless determination, he was able to navigate the complexities of the music industry, overcoming numerous challenges and setbacks.

He stressed that the rewards of his persistence are even sweeter because of the positivity and resilience he maintained throughout his career. His story serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact of maintaining a positive outlook, even in the face of adversity.
